Nutritional Snack Program
 The Nutritional Snack Program is funded
by the Surrey Fire Fighters Charitable
Society and
is part of our ongoing commitment to help the needy
in our community. The program provides much needed
food for hungry students who show up to school with
nothing to eat. The Surrey Fire Fighters are proud
to be able to offer this program to those that need
it most.
The program provides
fruit juice, granola bars, sesame snaps, fruit cups,
cheese and crackers, and other nonperishable
grocery items that are individually wrapped and can
easily be distributed to the students in need.
The program costs are kept to a minimum
and the only expense is for the food itself. The Surrey
Fire Department provides transportation and the labour
is provided by firefighters and school administrators
both of which keep this program running in an efficient
manner.

“ With your generous support,” we
have “launched a modest breakfast program on
March 1 st. Under the supervision of the School Administration
and a Teacher, 15 to 20 of the most needy students
will be invited to come to school to have a simple
breakfast of cereal toast or muffins and juice. These
students will also receive help to prepare for their
school day, both before and after school and hopefully
make a meaningful connection to their school and
education. “

Automotive Race Series
The Surrey Fire Fighters Charitable
Society participates with School District #36 in providing
the Surrey Fire Fighters Drag Race Series.
Students learn valuable automotive
and mechanical skills while working within a team to
build and repair their schools racecar. Students also
learn the safety mechanisms that go into racing at
a track that has been specifically designed to host
races and they learn to respect the dangers of racing
cars.
The season consist of three or four
races with the teams collecting points based on their
times and placement. The team receiving the most points
throughout the season is crowned Surrey Champion.
