Brother Graham, 50, was a member of the local's executive board. He passed away on Thursday, July 10, 2008 of a massive heart attack after just getting off duty.

It is with the deepest regret and sorrow to report the line-of-duty death of James Langton of IAFF Local 457 - Kitchener, Ontario. Brother Langton, 77, passed away on Sunday, September 30, 2007 after a long battle with an occupational cancer. He was a key member of the KPFFA Executive Board, serving both as President and Secretary for most of his career while with the Kitchener Fire Department. He also served as the Third District Vice-President for the Ontario Professional Fire Fighters Association for many years.

It is with deepest regret and sorrow to report the line-of-duty death of Fire Apparatus Engineer Christopher A. Johnson of IAFF Local 2881 - CDF Firefighters, Sacramento, California. Brother Johnson, 32, died on Thursday, September 20, 2007 from leukemia.

It is with deepest regret and sorrow to report the line-of-duty death of Fire Director James H. Boyd of IAFF Local 1311 - Baltimore County, Maryland. Brother Boyd, 55, died on Sunday, September 23, 2007 from cancer.

He was a former Vice President of the Local and served on the Executive Board for most of his 25-year career at USAF Plant 42, Palmdale Airport Fire Department.

It is with deepest regret and sorrow to report the line-of-duty death of Fire Fighter Kelly L. Page of IAFF Local 853-Lowell, Massachusetts. Brother Page, 38, died on Friday, September 14, 2007 after returning from a fire call. He was getting equipment ready when he collapsed in the firehouse.

It is with deepest regret and sorrow to report the line-of-duty death of Captain John A. Chappelle of IAFF Local 3888 - Toronto, Ontario. Brother Chappelle, 53, died on Wednesday, September 5, 2007 from brain cancer.

It is with deepest regret and sorrow to report the line-of-duty deaths of two members of IAFF Local 718 Boston, Massachusetts. Fire Fighters Paul J. Cahill, 55 and Warren J. Payne, 53, were, both assigned to Engine 30 / Ladder 25. They were fighting a fire in a restaurant on the evening of August 29th when the roof collapsed trapping them and their crews inside the structure.

It is with deepest regret and sorrow to report the line-of-duty death of Acting Captain Robert E. Hall of IAFF Local 18 Vancouver, British Columbia. Brother Hall, 51, died on Monday, August 27, 2007 from cancer. Brother Hall was not only a member of Local 18 for 26 years, but also a past Secretary-Treasurer of Local 18 as well as the British Columbia Professional Fire Fighters Association.
The memorial will be held on Wednesday, September 5, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Andrews Wesley Church, 100-1022 Nelson Street, Vancouver, British Columbia V6E 4S7, (604) 683-4574. The wake/coalition will be held directly after the memorial at the Sheraton Vancouver Wall Centre Hotel, 1088 Burrard Street, Vancouver.

It is with deepest regret and sorrow to report the line-of-duty deaths of two members of IAFF Local 94 New York City, New York. Fire Fighters Robert Beddia, 53 and Joseph Graffagnino, 34, both assigned to Engine 24 / Ladder 5, were trying to reach and put out a fire, which started on the 17th floor of the Deutsche Bank Office Building, Saturday evening. The building, adjacent to Ground Zero in lower Manhattan, was vacant and being demolished.

It is with deepest regret and sorrow to report the line-of-duty death of Fire Fighter Ken Preas of IAFF Local 1285 - Las Vegas, Nevada. Brother Preas died on Wednesday, August 15, 2007 from cancer.

It is with deepest regret and sorrow to report the line-of-duty deaths of the following nine members of the Charleston Fire Department, South Carolina. They are Fire Fighter James "Earl" Drayton, 56; Captain Theodore M. Benke, 49; and Engineer and local 61 Treasurer Rodney Bradford Baity, 37; Captain William Hutchinson, 48; Captain Louis Mulkey, 34; Engineer Mark Kelsey, 40; Assistant Engineer Michael French, 27; Fire Fighter Melven Champaign, 46; and Fire Fighter Brandon Thompson, 27. They all died on Monday, June 18, 2007 when the floor of a sofa furniture warehouse collapsed while they were trying to put out the blaze.

It is with deepest regret and sorrow to report the line-of-duty death of Deputy Chief Thomas P. Canzanella, President of IAFF Local 3172 - Hackensack, New Jersey. Brother Canzanella, 50, died this morning of cardiac arrest. Brother Canzanella was also the President of the Professional Firefighters Association of New Jersey as well as a District Field Service Representative for the IAFF in the first district and a HazMat/WMD Instructor.

It is with deepest regret and sorrow to report the line-of-duty death of Captain John F. Kenney of IAFF Local 718 Boston, Massachusetts. Brother Kenney, 48, died on Friday, March 9, 2007 from brain cancer.

It is with deepest regret and sorrow to report the line-of-duty death of Captain Randy
Meyer of IAFF Local 455 - Windsor, Ontario. Brother Meyer, 57, died on Monday,
February 26, 2007 from non-hodgkins lymphoma.

It is with deepest regret and sorrow to report the line-of-duty death of Captain William
C. Nolan of IAFF Local 191 Watertown, New York. Brother Nolan, 52, died on
Monday, February 26, 2007 of cancer.

It is with deepest regret and sorrow to report the line-of-duty death of District Chief
Vernon Gobert of IAFF Local 1051 - Bossier City, Louisiana. Brother Gobert, 36, died on
Friday, February 23, 2007 of cancer.

It is with deepest regret and sorrow to report the line-of-duty death of Fire Engine Operator Joseph T. Torkos of IAFF Local 344 – Detroit, Michigan. Brother Torkos, 47, died on Wednesday, February 7, 2007 in an apparatus accident while on his way responding to a fire.

It is with deepest regret and sorrow to report the line-of-duty death of Fire Fighter Bryan Paul Roberts of IAFF Local 793 - Columbia, South Carolina, Brother Roberts, 26, died on Saturday, February 3, 2007 of heart-related complications.
He will be laid to rest today at 3:00 p.m.

It is with deepest regret and sorrow to report the line-of-duty death of Captains Thomas Nichols and Harold Lessard of IAFF Local 867 - Winnipeg, Manitoba. Brothers Nichols, 57, and Lessard, 55, were killed on Sunday, February 4, 2007 while fighting a residential fire, where it is believed a flashover occurred. Four other fire fighters were injured in the fire, one in critical condition.
Funeral services have been arranged for Brothers Nichols and Lessard, and may be attended
by friends and family of Captain Nichols and Captain Lessard and the City of Winnipeg fire fighters.
Any fire fighters attending MUST be in full uniform. The Lessard funeral will be held Thursday, February 8, 2007, at 1:00 p.m. at the North Kildonan Mennonite Brethren Church, 1315 Gateway Road. The Nichols funeral will be held Monday, February 12, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. at the Grant Memorial Baptist Church, 877 Wilkes Avenue.
The Memorial Service for Captain Harold Lessard and Captain Tom Nichols will be held on Wednesday, February 14, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. at the MTS Centre, 300 Portage Avenue, Winnipeg, Manitoba R3C 5S4. The doors will open at 8:00 a.m. and we ask that members of the public be seated by 9:30 a.m.. Fire fighters are asked to muster at 6:00 a.m. (no later than 7:00 a.m.) in the Winnipeg Convention Centre.
